A necromancer series that reissues the valuable titles of handmade labels for collectors, which were distributed only in a small part, from the official master who officially took over. Introducing the “Ordinary Madness” label specializing in black music such as blues and soul. Rare titles are re-appearing at affordable prices with reissue emblems and new back jackets.
It’s not uncommon for Booker T. & MGs, who was originally a Stax house band, to invite “friends” to perform live, but for a moment I think “Oh?” With Neil Young. However, in the year 1992, considering that the drummer is Anton Fig, there will be many fans who will get a point. That’s right, it’s time for Bob Dylan’s 30th anniversary concert, commonly known as “Bob Festival”. Booker T. MGs played a key role in the backing band at “Bob Festival,” with drummers Anton Fig and Jim Keltner. Neil Young also attended the festival and would have liked the band’s support. After that, he even appeared on a live tour led by Booker T. MGs. In this item, Neil only participates in one song as a surprise guest, but the other tracks are the soul-based masterpieces that are the true value of MGs and have stable playing power. 極一部でのみ流通していたコレクターによるコレクターのためのハンドメイド・レーベルの貴重タイトル群を、正式に譲り受けた正規のマスターから再発するネクロマンサー・シリーズ。ブルースやソウルと言ったブラック・ミュージックに特化した“オーディナリー・マッドネス”レーベル登場。リイシュー用エンブレム、新装裏ジャケットにてレア・タイトルがお求めやすい価格にて再登場です。
元々スタックスのハウス・バンドであったブッカーT・アンド・MGズが“フレンド”を招いてライヴを行うのは珍しい事ではありませんが、ニール・ヤングとは一瞬「おや？」と思うところ。しかし1992年と言う年、ドラマーがアントン・フィグと言う点を考えれば合点がいくファンも多い事でしょう。そうです、ボブ・ディランのデビュー30周年記念コンサート通称“ボブ・フェス”の時期なのです。“ボブ・フェス”ではブッカーT・MGズがバック・バンドの軸を担い、ドラマーはアントン・フィグとジム・ケルトナーでした。ニール・ヤングもそのフェスに参加し、このバンドのサポートを体感してお気に召したことでしょう。その後ブッカーT・MGズを率いたライヴ・ツアーにも出ている程です。本アイテムではニールはサプライズ・ゲスト的に一曲参加しているだけですが、他のトラックこそMGズの真骨頂であるソウル系名曲揃いに安定の演奏力。たまにジャリっとノイズが入る箇所があるため神経質な方にはお勧めできませんが、全体的に非常に迫力のあるオーディエンス音源でコレクターズ・アイテム慣れしているファンには推薦盤です。
