The definitive edition of the Rome performance by the Lost Quintet. This performance is a very popular performance among fans. The authentic jazz classic “‘ROUND MIDNIGHT” was brought to the farthest land by the Lost Quintet, and “THIS”, a rare free jazz performance for Miles, has become a standard jazz rock since then. About two months after recording the album “BITCHES BREW”, which can be said to be a turning point in jazz history, the set list is diverse. Surprisingly, the best performances are shown in all of these, and those who have not heard it yet must listen.
The definitive edition that appears this time is a three-disc set with two CDs that include the latest remastered and recorded sound board sound sources that are almost completely recorded, and a DVD that includes two types of broadcast videos that are also remastered and recorded. In both cases, the hiss noise, which was originally tight, has been considerably reduced. Both of the videos are about 30 minutes and do not cover the entire concert, and the sound quality itself is better than the sound source recorded on the CD, so each has its own value, and is a valuable performance of the famous performance in Rome. 今回登場の決定版は、ほぼ完全収録のサウンドボード音源を最新リマスタリングし収録したCD二枚に、二種類のブロードキャスト映像をこちらもリマスタリングし収録したDVDが付いた三枚組。いずれも元来キツめだったヒスノイズがかなり軽減されています。映像の方はどちらも30分程度とコンサート全てをカバーしたものではなく、音質自体もCDに収録した音源の方が優れている為、それぞれに存在価値があり、名演の誉れ高きローマ公演の貴重な記録をカップリングしたコレクターズ・エディションとなっています。
