1964 The Beatles’ first starring movie, “A Hard Days Night (The Beatles are coming, ya. Ya. Ya.)”. Since its release in the 1960s theater in Japan, it has been broadcast on TV in the 1970s, and videos and DVDs have been released repeatedly since the 1980s, but this “THE VINTAGE MOVIE COLLECTION” has never been released until now. Contains a valuable TV broadcast version.
DVD1 contains a TV version that was broadcast only once with original Japanese subtitles in addition to the original movie version at the time of its release in 1964. This is not only recorded in the unedited original 4: 3 aspect video that is not a trimmed wide screen currently in circulation, but it is also an original mono sound source that is not a digitally remastered stereo sound source. .. There have been many TV broadcasts so far, but in recent years it has been an official distribution version with digitally remastered video and stereo sound sources. Actually, it was not released in Japan in the form of the original movie version (original 4: 3 screen & original mono sound source), it is the only rare version that was broadcast with Japanese subtitles, and the subtitle itself It is also interesting that the translation is different from the current one.
Even more valuable is the dubbed version in Japanese that was broadcast on TV in the 1970s with DVD2. 1964年ザ・ビートルズ初の主演映画として知られる『ア・ハード・デイズ・ナイト（ビートルズがやって来るヤァ。ヤァ。ヤァ。）』。日本でも1960年代劇場公開以来、1970年代にTV放送もされ、1980年代以降ビデオやDVDのリリースも繰り返されていますが、この”THE VINTAGE MOVIE COLLECTION”では実質的にこれまで発売されたことのない貴重なTV放送バージョンを収録しています。
DVD1には1964年公開当時のオリジナル・ムービー・バージョンに独自のオリジナル日本語字幕付きで一度だけ放送されたTVバージョンを収録。これは現行流通しているトリミングされたワイド画面ではない未編集のオリジナル4:3アスペクト映像で収録されているだけでなく、デジタル・リマスターされたステレオ音源ではないオリジナル・モノ音源となっています。これまで何度もTV放送はありましたが、近年ではデジタル・リマスターされた映像とステレオ音源となっている公式流通バージョンでした。実はオリジナル・ムービー・バージョン（オリジナル4:3画面＆オリジナル・モノ音源）の形では国内リリースされておらず、日本語字幕で放送されたものとしては独自で唯一放送された珍しいバージョンで、字幕自体も現行とは翻訳も異なっているのも興味深いところです。
さらに貴重なのがDVD2収録の1970年代TV放送された日本語による吹き替えバージョン。当時まだ家庭用ビデオ・デッキの普及もほとんどない時代に放送され、その後こうした吹き替えバージョンが放送されることもなくなり、今となってはもう見ることの出来ない貴重なお宝映像といえるでしょう。字幕翻訳とは異なり独特のセンスが面白い日本語吹き替えだけでなく、冒頭に流れるタイトルからして映画邦題『ビートルズがやって来るヤァ。ヤァ。ヤァ。』が『ビートルズがやって来た』(笑)となっていたり、リンゴの放浪シーンではオリジナルにはない「オール・マイ・ラヴィング」が流れたり放送時間の都合でいくつかの場面がカットされていたりとユルさ満載で、まさに昭和の残像が浮かび上がる往年のファン感涙の貴重な発掘映像です。当時のTV放送ゆえに画質音質も劣化ありますが可能限りのレストア作業で修復してDVD化されてます。
